I have a baby chick we thought had wry leg. We tried wrapping the legs together as some websites say to do and we thought the chick was doing well after a couple days so we removed the wrap and found she only stands on one leg. Then I picked her up and noticed the "bad leg" looked swollen. I pressed on it and it was as if the tendon slid. I looked it up and found out it was perosis but I don't know how to treat it.
A lot of people seem to say "cull the chick" and "there are lots of websites which talk about perosis and what to do...." but I haven't found these sites and I'm not excited about killing a baby chick I just hatched and have been trying to nurse to health.
Is there any treatment and if so what should I do? Chicks were born April 23rd.
