This is Lavender - my fourteen-week-old Coronation. At first, I was sure he/she was a roo. Then a hen. Now I'm waffling and thinking he's a roo. >.> I've never been so undecided about one of my chickens before. This bird is not crowing - the speckled sussex Lavender was raised with was crowing at eleven weeks. He/she does not stand like a roo. His/her neck feathers look like roo hackle feathers to me until I take a closer look. They're really not pointed, but the color fades and so they do look pointed from a distance. Also, the comb and wattles are pink rather than red. I'm happy to have him whatever the gender - I just thought I'd check with you guys. I'm getting lots of mixed answers elsewhere. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
