We want to build a small run that is predator proof.

What are the most secure ways to attach wire to a wood framed run? Pounding in larger staples? Could someone please tell me what those type of staples are called? Would a strip of wood over the staples make the wire more secure? Has anyone ever used some bolts, nuts and washers to attach wire? I though about using these in a few spots as reinforcement, especially where lengths of wire might start/stop.

We will be using 1/2" hardware cloth. We are also planning to use a skirt of wire around the bottom of the run, to prevent digging.

Thank you for any suggestions or experience you can share.

they are called "fence staples" I use the 1 1/4 inch ones on my ranch, they are a good size to hold the fencing in place, that is for cows, it should work very well for the chickens.

We use the large "staples" Works great as long as you have a good solid surface to staple them into. A strip of wood over the end of the fence, on the coop is a good idea!
