So two weeks ago I went to my hens to find that a wild rabbit had come into my shed and give birth in the nest box!:

Now they are getting big and they have climbed out of the nest box and made themselves comfy in a corner on the shed floor. I put some cardboard over them and scattered some straw on top just in case the hens decide they don't like them!. They will probably leave in the next couple of days.:

That is SO cool! I am somewhat surprised the kits survived; I would have thought hens might have been ruthless about intruders in their nest box.

But that's so adorable! Who'da thunk you were operating a Wild Bunny Habitat nursery!

I know!, the hens probably knew not to harm them because they would have been in the shed when the rabbit was giving birth. I did put some cardboard n top so only the mother could get in but if the hens wanted to, they could have easily got in! Before I put the cardboard on top a hen laid an egg on top of them!
that is nature at its best you don t see these things everyday
I know, I was really surprised when I saw the nest!
