Is it normal for Pekin's to have black feathers?

hmmm, I was thinking I had all girls here. But maybe that one is a boy. Luckily that was the one that I wasn't sure of yet and hadn't named. If it is indeed a male his name will be Jasper.

The little dark duck to the side is our new addition. Someone gave him/her to me. Not sure on the breed of that one though. It's about 5 months old.

He/she has one black feather on the back under it's wings and then one nearer to the base of it's tail on the side. Can't seem to get a good picture of that feather though.
 
Okay, okay I was on your other thread and I think its a eclipse plumage and your pekin is a freeeeeeeeeeeeek a cool one but I couldn't find anyone like that on the internet
 
I was told many years ago that a Pekin Drake would have a single black feather on its back. Had a drake but never noticed one. Good question, you might post on the Pekin Duck Club Thread too.
 
Feathers of any other colour than white is considered a flaw in pekin ducks.
The dark feathers might be an indication that there were not only pekins among their ancestry. When my pekin duck was younger she used to develop black "eyebrows" and a few black feathers on her back, which bleached out over the months. With her partner she produced a drake with blue head and back.
 
We have four Pekins and one of them has a few black spots on the top of his head. Aside from that, he looks just like the others.
 
One of my three pekin males has a black(true black) spot of 2-3 feathers where the back meets the tail. He had the black spot right from hatching, now 6 months old full adult feathering still has the black spot.
A friend across town has one pekin(I didn't ask if male) in a flock of about 20 with a similar spot. But her flock clearly had some runner mixed in by an unscrupulous breeder/hatchery, great egg production, but as meat birds they don't size up as much and are the opposite of calm. They also have a slight runner stance and bill shape.
We both purchased from the same feed store 3 years apart, unknown hatcheries.
