MKK Farms. Updates, pics, and stories!

Hi everyone!

On Tuesday I stopped turning my 15 eggs but none have hatched :(, I also started collecting New Hampshire eggs for the next hatch. It will be a small one though.

On Wednesday I separated some birds for an upcoming show and I also got thirteen new layers. They are about one year old.

Today I locked down some New Hampshire eggs (seven of them). I am really hoping at least some of them hatch after my last hatching failure.

I think that's all. Have a great Saturday. :)

The most exciting news is that some New Hampshires hatched! I have five of them and they look great for the most part, except the runtish looking one that seems to have a problem with his eye.

The runtish looking one is the darker one in the middle.

This one thinks he is a duck.

Needless to say, I am happy that I got some!

It looks like the "runt" isn't to much of a runt after all. No eye problems that I can see. I guess it was just irritated. :dunno

All the birds look healthy. I am getting about 10-14 eggs from about 22 chickens that are laying, so its not great but it isn't bad either. :)

Hello all,

This morning I found the eggs in my incubator room tempereture...I guess my incubator is toast. I moved the eggs to my homemade incubator so hopefully that hatch will still go okay.

Other than that, I sprinkled the garden, cleaned one of the coops, and took some pictures of the chicks.

The chicks didn't know what to do.
