Taking Chicks Outside To Play

I took my chicks out at 1 week. As long as it is over 70 degrees they will be perfect. Just make sure not to have them out of the brooder for 2 long or they will get cold. But for yours I would say they would be fine for 3 to 4 hours.

I took my girls outside for the first time yesterday evening,
I put them in a wire cage to be safe, cause I bet they are
faster than me..so is my dog...
I haven't had a chance to get them out yet. Right now there brooder is a large wire dog cage. I have an actual brooder, but hubby built it outside and couldn't get it in the spare room it needs to be in. I was hoping he would get the run built for it so they could enjoy outside more. I can easily hook up the light for them in it if they need some heat. Too much to do and not enough time some weeks.

We have been taking ours out almost daily since they were about 5 weeks old they are almost 8 weeks now (still waiting to have our coop built). They love it, no medicated feed. We are in the Pacific NW so its not as warm, it was about 65 or 70 when we first took ours out.
