Duck breeders in wisconsin

She has been sitting for 3 days. I took a peek in her nest after I filled their pool up and I counted 16 eggs. She got up to cool off in their pool and went right back on nest.

Her first egg, she laid May 10th, which would be due June 4 give or take. But she has 14 eggs laid each day after that so her last egg laid would be due mid June right?

They would all be due the same day or close to it. Ducks don't start to incubate until they have all the eggs they want. They just start to set them. Then they sit on them when they laid enough.

if she has been sitting all day for the last three days I would expect ducklings around the 20th of June.

As she is building her clutch the eggs do not start cell division until she is sitting and the internal temp get to a certain point (don't know what it is off hand), however this is how all the egg hatch at roughly the same time. Ducks are 28 days. if she has been sitting for 3 days now she would have started on May 23rd and should hatch on June 20th.

Hope this helps

That helps a lot! Thank you so much. I'm still learning but I'm getting there. I can't wait until they hatch. I hope the duck eggs I have in my incubator hatch out ok. But I know not all make it. I lost 2/13 banty chicks I bought on the 19th and 3/31 pheasant chicks I bought Saturday. Since I just started out, losing the first chick was a little tough, but I keep my mind focused on not all make it and I still have the ones that have survived.

Ok thank you. She has been coming back to the nest all the time. Only time she gets up is to eat, drink and cool off in the pool. Otherwise she's laying the rest of the time.

I have a single duckling egg hatching in my incubator. It has been pipping since 1am. Today is 26 days, it is a rouen/pekin mix. It has about a 1 in-1.5 in hole already. Egg is on its side but I can see yolk underneath duckling. Is thos normal? What do I do?
