egg eating is a hard problem to deal with. No eggs, no chicks. If you don't have a rooster, you won't have fertile eggs. My friend has two serama hens and they team up with her dog.

They break eggs and the dogs gobbles them up. My friend doesn't care. Most people do. If you put Egg Eater in the search box, I'm sure a lot of posts will pop up with the best suggestions

Hello Cali Brenda from Oregon Brenda :) Welcome to BYC - great info in the learning center tabs above - when my chickens started pecking at the eggs I got fake eggs & placed them in the nest. It stopped within a few days. Some people blow out the eggs & fill with mustard so when they peck it taste nasty to them.

! Pleased you joined us! As drumstick stated, egg eating can be a real problem behavior. One (not so cheap) option is a roll away nest box - it sits on a slant so the egg rolls into a protected away so it can't be accessed by the chicken. Good luck to you!
