Today we found a tiny baby rabbit and the mother is no where to be seen its been about an hour since we found it, it's still alive but won't go anywhere !! I know I should leave it there but if I leave it there over night unless the mother comes back it will for sure get eatten by a fox or coyote what should I do if the mother doesn't come back ??????? Should I call an animal rescue center or a vet???? Should I just leave it there and see what happens???? Please reply i don't want another animal to eat it also could anyone tell me how old it is or what kind of rabbit it is ???? Sorry this is sooo long !!!!
Thanks!!!

This looks like a baby cottontail rabbit. You should leave it where it is. Trust me, that tiny adorable baby can take care of itself! The mom will come back in the evening and take care of it. Hope this helps!

Chickens: Sex-Links, Ameracaunas, Copper Marons, Frizzle Batman, American Game Hens, Old English Game Bantams, Gold Laced Wyandottes, Silkie/Cochin Bantam Rooster, Production Reds, and assorted Barnyard Mutts in one big happy flock!

Dogs: One Lab-Coonhound mix and 4 Longhaired Miniature Dachshunds.

Family: Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, and Me!

Agree with this.  Here's a good website for reference:

How sweet !  We have tiny baby rabbits in our yard all the time.  Momma will continue to care for him if he goes back to the nest to sleep, or he may be big enough to be on his own. I have been surprised at how little they are when they are out on their own. Either way, he will be fine left alone.

Awww, that is a little bitty cotton tail and he is well equipped to  take care of himself. big_smile.png Leave him alone and he will find his momma himself tonight. They look little and sweet but those guys are fiesty and tough little things, used to watching out for themselves for the most part. All momma does is feed them and take off at this age anyway.

Just try to keep an eye on him from the house to make sure no dogs or cats try to bother him until night comes and he can find his way home safely. wink.png

I might be a little concerned if he is still there in the morning though. hmm.png
