My chick is not growing - Page 3

Wow, they've grown...!!  Even the little guy!!  So glad he is doing well.  I wish mine would have had a happy ending. :(

Sorry about your little one. Mine always ate and drank with no issues, just didn't grow as fast as the rest or feather as fast. When his siblings moved out I put a stuffed animal in the brooder with him. Now he is in a bird cage. I have been afraid the bigger cockerel sibling would beat him up if I tried to put him back in with them. Since they are bigger he wouldn't have a chance to stand up to them. I am pretty sure when he starts crowing I am going to have to boot him out LOL

Thank you.  She was just so little.  I figure she was a runt and was probably chased off the food and water at TSC before I even brought her home.  She probably had just lost interest in eating by then.  At least she's not suffering now.

Today marks two weeks since I brought my babies home and much like Ultimate Acres pic Ms Blackie wing seem not to be growing like everyone else. Her size is a tad smaller but not much. On her wings I say four or 5 day old chick's wings. I am worried about her cause she is quiet. She does eat and drink well and comes out at playtime she is an Explorer like her friends penguin. Anyway =very one is out winging here in wing growth should I be worried

Hopefully she will be fine like Thumbie. Looks like Thumbie is a cockerel LOL He is still in the house and spoiled rotten! Fully feathered now and starting to get his pointy saddle feathers.

here's a pic of Blackie next to her friend wisky. They came home together. As you can see whisky has longer wings Blackie are short like a new chick at first I did not think much of it til she tried to fly around with the rest. Hopefully they will grow in and catch up. Blackie is in front whisky in the back

they are cute! I think they will. Thumbie did. Still smaller than the rest but fully feathered. I have also heard that some breeds the females feather faster. maybe they are one of those breeds and blackie is a boy

Oh no no Blackie best not be a boy lol I got her from the pullets if she is a boy she will saddle end up on the table. She suppose to be a black sex link she is all black with one white spot under her neck. If she is a boy I will be upset cause she is so pretty

LOL then I am probably wrong. I have just heard some breeds the pullets feather faster. My breeds are not that way though. I tried to do the wing sexing and I put a leg band on the one with teh shortest wing feathers to see if it was a cockerel and it ended up being a pullet. So can't wing sex mine LOL
