It is getting weedy outside in the garden and I was looking for good weeds to feed the chickens...
I have seen purslane in the garden and I know that is good even for humans but learned that spurge is toxic. There is lots of spurge weed everywhere near purslane.
What will happen if my chickens eat that too.
Of course I wont through it in their run knowingly but what if they eat it when free ranging.
It is not possible to clean all garden from them picking it by hand.
How do the ones of you with free range chickens cope with toxic weeds?
Is that really toxic to chickens????

I don't wory about weeds in the yard, chickens seem to know what they can and can not eat. I try not to plant things I know are toxic but as far as weeds.......those are out of your controll and chickens will leave them alone just like wild animals they seem to instictively know

My chickens have always avoided them and they end up being the only thing growing!
