New to the Chicken World. I live in Winchester and have a pair of Bantam Black Cochins and 3 of their offspring (2roos and 1 hen) Trying to find someone who would like to trade or sell anything that I can breed with them to start my flock. I have no idea what I can or can not breed them with. The babies were born on May 15th.

Not me. I haven't even been to the expo swap, which is 15 miles from me. Too busy trying to raise 31 peeps in this heat and keep my gardens going with the drought.

lol..only 31..have 6 growout pens and 2 brooders going..over a hundred in them...probably another 60 in the bator

I've never been to one. Where and when is it. And what should I expect. I'm looking for at least 4 hens. My 3 little ones 1 hen and 2 roos are starting to get mature and I caught the 2 roos sparring this morning. I guess it's time to seperate and get them some friends.

I just bought my property late last year (a foreclosure that had been terribly neglected), and I am a disabled, 61-year-old female, living alone. It has been quite an adventure to get my homestead up and running, so the six black Australorps I raised back in the spring and these 31 chicks is all I can handle over the first winter. Right now, I have only been able to build hoop-houses for them, waiting until later in the year to build a real chicken coop.

Most of my efforts this year have been getting a huge organic garden in and producing in this heat and drought conditions, plus getting my fruit orchard and berry patch established.
