I got my first 3 chickens in mid June this year. I'm writting a thesis about learning abilities of slovenian chicken breeds and this 3 ladies were some of the chickens I worked with. They used to live inside a barn but now they've became backyard chickens. It took them a few days to get used to the grass, natural light and temperature.
This is Črči, a Styrian hen
Miss Res, another Styrian hen and the QUEEN of our backyard
Miss Red again
And Slovenian Barred hen, know as 'the Tank' and 'bottomless pit' She could eat her weight in food.
They're just shy of 12 months. Hopefully they will molt soon (the bald patches were done mostly by roosters back at the farm).
Their coop is still being built (1 more door missing and a couple of varnish paints) so they're still staying in dog crates during the night and they roam our backyard during the day.
That's it for now.
