Boise!  Would anyone in the area like to share an order for day-old chicks (and the shipping fee of $36.95) from MyPetChicken?  I only want to order two and the minimum order is four. Would like to do this soon.  I ordered from them last  year and the hens are healthy and beautiful. I paid extra for Marek's Vaccination ($1/chick), and it is so worth it.  Take a look at the website and let me know. Here is the link: http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Day-Old-Baby-Chicks-c36.aspx  Thanks.

Me and my husband, gentleman-farmer Ray; 1 EE - Sheena; 1 RIR - Rhodie; 2 Barnevelders - Eggnes & Henrietta; a 5" fantail goldfish - Nemo; two chicks which are flying in on May 15th (and boy, will their little wings be tired); and Piper, a sheltie puppy, the newest addition to the family.

Idahomestead... What kind of chicks are you wanting to get...  if it was me I would just get with another BYC member in Boise and get a couple of chicks from them..  For example I know ROLOIdaho has some great Marans...

What kind of chicks do you want? I'm hatching black copper marans, blue orpington, wheaten ameraucana, silver ameraucana, and bantam cochin. I might be able to get them to Boise if you can wait until I have the chicks hatched for some Boise orders I have on my list. You would have to pick them up at their house as they are picking them up here in Paul, Idaho. If you want hatchery birds, a lot of feed stores start having sexed pullets available in March. You would have to ask them what breeds they will be ordering.

Have you tried KSL? I think there is a breeder for both of those breeds in Utah. I love double laced barnevelders. I don't have enough room for another breed, though. :)
