Has anyone received a woolly (silkied) Svarthona chick from GFF or hatched any? I have 3 that I hatched from an all GFF trio and heard from someone who received a woolly chick direct from GFF. I have confirmed that the woolly variant does occur among the Swedish population, but I don't know how prevalent it is.
Very interesting about the silkied like feathers on these that hatched.
This other thread has some info that may be relevant. Check out post #118 in this thread: http://www.backyardchickens.com/t/525146/the-blackest-ones-on-exploring-the-significance-of-cemani-mutations/110
Now that I know what words in Swedish I am looking for, I have found quite a bit of documentation of Woolly Svarthönas in the Swedish population. This is a very interesting paper that was sent to me by a friend in Sweden - I haven't completely digested it yet: http://journal.frontiersin.org/article/10.3389/fgene.2015.00044/full
I lost one of the pullets to cocci, but the other two are doing very well. I will try to get some new pictures soon.
