Hey All.
We purchased a few turkeys about two months ago when our hen went broody and now they are getting significantly larger. This past week, their appetite has far surpassed their daily rationing of feed that I was giving the clan and they are absolutely attacking any and all food like they are starving. I want to provide them a free-choice feeder that the chickens can not get in to. I'm having trouble with coming up with an idea on how to do it. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm going to switch the PVC Feed Hopper from inside my brooder to outside and keep it high enough that the chickens can't reach it. If that works, I can keep going that way, but I would prefer feeding fermented feed. I have absolutely no solution figured out for that.
Everyone free-ranges all day, from about 0400 Hours to 2000 Hours. Then the chickens go to their regular coop, while the turkeys are just hanging out in the yard now. Is 2000 Hours to 0400 Hours going to be enough time for the turkeys to eat their fermented feed, since it's overnight? They don't seem to care what time of day it is, they'll eat everything I give them.
Thanks in advance!
