Is there anyone that knows anything about the ordinance in Woodbury? Or willing to assist in changing the laws if need be? I hate to get involved for fear of losing what I already have....

The pertinent laws and ordinances may well on line so you can find them without personally visiting anyone. You may be able to call the zoning folks and simply ask about any pertinent laws and such.

In these matters, whether you are in the city or not plays a role. If you live in a formal neighborhood with covenants and restrictions, these will take precedence over any laws and ordinances.

I'm moving to Woodbury NJ in the middle of June. During our house hunting I came across several homes with backyard chickens running around and obviously visible through the chain link fence. I'm curious if anything has changed since this post or if people just warn their neighbors about getting the chickens so they don't get in trouble?

Covering all bases - sorry if you all have seen this on other posts already.
But just in case - tonight we will be discussing backyard chicken hens at the Council Meeting in Woodbury. I have chickens in Woodbury and have been "outed" and now it's a thing.
We are asking at the most basic level that the definition of "livestock" - which is typically a commercial agriculture term - be amended and remove the word "chickens" from the definition.
I am sure this is just the beginning of a larger discussion.
The meeting is open to the public and anyone can attend and/or speak.
7:30 pm on the 2nd floor of City Hall at 33 Delaware Street.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions or email me at threeltlbirds at juno dot com.
