Best treatment for gapeworm?

Pics
Oh, I should have added, they were treated with 3 doses of ABs at the start (over the course of a month) with no change at all.

The only symptom is the gaping and rattle, other than that the other chicken who has this problem has been absolutely fine in herself, but my Orp seems to be struggling a bit.

They've been to different vets who are no help at all (chickens aren't common round here, and the vets don't seem to really care for them).

I'll try another wormer and see what happens, I have read that gapeworm can take a few doses to clear. The other hen with this problem seems to get better (no rattle) for a while, but then the rattle comes back.

Not sure what I'm meant to do x
Gapeworm is very disturbing to watch a chicken surfer from. They wheeze and sneeze and caugh . You can tell that they are going through absolute hell. I have thought that my chicken have had a respirstory infection almost every time its something lodged in their throat . Chickens have sensitive airways due to the complex respirstory system they have consisting of two lungs that are attached to 7 or 8 air sacs . With that being said , they are very résilient and usually get better . If à chicken is showing isolated symptoms of coughing shaking of the head , or wheezing, make a tea with water , veg oil , cinnamon , and honey . If the chicken is sick, the cinnamon and honey act as an antibiotic. The oil acts as a lubcricant and decongestent to dislodge anything stuck in the throat . Also directly messaging the asopghogas

Thank you kathy, I will read up on aspergillosis and ask a vet about it :)

I have never found baytril effective for a respiratory condition in poultry or some other species either. I’ve found it to be a very poor antibiotic. Tetracycline is much more effective, especially the injectable given by a vet.

I've read that Valbazen is the best dewormer if your birds have gapeworms. I believe that Safeguard can also work if you give it in a strong enough dosage twice.

I'm not so sure that your chickens have gapeworm. Gapeworm is relatively rare. You can tell for sure if they have gapeworm by swabbing their throats with a cotton swab (the worms will appear as thin red strings).

A respiratory infection might be the real cause. Respiratory diseases can cause rattling, head shaking, gurgling, sneezing, and coughing. Depending on the strain/severity of the disease, you might notice only a few symptoms, or lots of them. Just keep in mind that gapeworm is not the only problem that can cause the symptoms your birds are exhibiting.

Hope I've helped!
My hen acts like she is gasping for air but shows no sign of respiratory distress like drainage, etc. She is eating and pooping normally. I have isolated her and am giving her meloxicam but I'm not sure she is improving in the breathing area. I've thought about treating my hens for worms but am not sure what to do. I have a small flock (9 layers, one pet, and a roo)
