If the scales are from mites, just treat for mites (and lice) and they should be fine in a few days..... Vaseline scrubbed into/under the scales on the legs, use a lot, will smother the mites and soften/loosen the scales so they will fall off soon and the new scales will be pretty and nice... meanwhile treat the birds weekly with a powder like Sevin or poultry dust to get rid of any critters on the bodies. I would treat the silkie too. At least with the powders. I would keep them penned away from your flock until done with treatment and quarantine.

might mention also treat again for scaly let mites every 3 days a few times in a row. That is their life cycle if you want to get them all, without recurring.
