How to tell if a hen is laying eggs?

Never heard of them having fleas. But they do get lice and mites. And if you have a "couple" then there's usually more that you can't see. Treat them ASAP.

They could be hiding thier eggs from you!
Do they do thier egg song?

This is my very first flock. My girls are 16 weeks (give or take a week) and one has started laying small eggs. I have no idea who it is. I don't believe I have heard of an egg song. What do they do or what does it sound like? Some of my girls have started being a little more vocal.

Do you guys think the same method to figure out if a hen is laying can be used to tell if you have a rooster or hen at say 3 months if you are unsure just buy looking at them?

Roosters would not lay eggs so the buttom area whare you feal the 2 bones on each side of the butt and the Brest bone would be smaller right.

The space between the brestbone and one of the bones by the butt.

I think it would work right?
(Ps can't post picks(just in case) my phone won't take them)

I have a hen/roo that is about 5 months old that has a hen sized but space and some hen neck and back fethers, but the others are kind of pointy. they aren't rooster long and narrow like the roosters younger than it, but they do have a point and it SOUNDS like a boy?
