Rooster's comb and waddle are turning black

I would apply some silvadene cream from a vet, if your vet will give you a prescription. Don't use any Vaseline-based ointments such as Neosporin or Bacitracin on the comb, since the heat lamp can still burn. If you can't get Silvadene, then use some iodine on it. It's hard to say if it will heal, but it shouldn't kill her. The lamp looks better. They usually work better overhead, but make sure the temperature is where you want it by using a cheap thermometer on the floor.

My baby is a chick and no frost bite cause she has still been inside with a heat lamp. What could be causing this?

Did you ever figure out what was going on with your chick? One of mine has the same issue. All of the others are fine. The chick is very active and healthy and otherwise developing fine.. not sure what to do. I am using a heat pad and not a lamp, but they have been out in the sun some. My chick is probably 5-6 weeks now.
