Cackle Hatchery reviews

I wouldn't assume all extras from Cackle are cockerels. I ordered 16 chicks from them; 5 surplus dark egg layer pullets, 5 white Chanteclers (straight run only), 3 cream Legbar pullets and 3 Faverolles pullets. Along with those I got an extra Chantecler, and extra dark layer - a pullet, and an extra Faverolles - also a pullet. As for the Chanteclers, I have 3 pullets and 3 cockerels.

Well that is interesting, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Hens are always a blessing.

Okay, 16 chicks came and only one died. The rest seem pretty solid, I think a got several cochins. Don't know what the others are yet, I got them started in electrolytes and a little acv in their water. Everything seems well.

We ordered 17 chicks from cackle back in mid March. They sent us 21 in all.
One was DOA, another later died of a disease or malnutrition of some sort.

Ended up with 6 Silkies, 2 Columbian Wyandotte(they shorted us one), 5 Houdan, 4 Easter Eggers and 3 barred rocks for a total of 20. 7 weeks old now and they are growing like weeds, very active and healthy.

I can't exactly tell how many are roosters but so far I'm only convinced one or two are.. Will update in another month once it becomes more clear. Happy thus far.
