I have just discovered the joys of hot tea.
Previously, my only experience with hot tea was in Chinese Restruants.

A few weeks ago, I treated my daughter to a mother / daughter outing at a "Tea Room"...
Now, I am hooked... I have checked out tea reviews and started sampling teas from various sources..

White tea, Black Tea, Herbal Tea, Oolong Tea, Chai Tea, etc....

AWESOME is all I can say!
I love sipping a cup or two in the evening. It is helping me unwind and relax...

My FAVORITE tea right now is
Zhena's Gypsy Caramel Chai Herbal Red Tea

So what is your FAVORITE Tea?
Do you drink it black, with Sugar, honey or cream?
Do you use loose leaf, sachets, or tea bags?
 
Being English... I love my tea!

My morning cuppa is with milk but no sugar (nor sweetener).. I can start to function after my second cup of tea.....!

I have friends bring my tea over from England for me.... I like a typically English strong tea and sadly here in France there are no such blends.

Do try Earl Grey.... on it's own (without sugar, nor milk) it is amazingly refreshing... mint tea is also great for indigestion and green tea is full of antioxidants....

I have not tried Earl Grey tea yet.
I did order Irish and Scottish Breakfast teas.

I would LOVE to try some mint tea. Do you recommend any specific brand of mint tea? All the reviews I have read so far have not been good on the mint teas...

Lady Grey is my treat tea. I am Tiwnnings or nothing, the Irish breakfast or English breakfast is the standard for me, but for something different and fun-a treat- I go to the Earl or Lady Grey. The lady Grey has bergamot in it. Oh, so lovely.
 
I was about to suggest Twinings Tea's.... they do a lovely tea with mint called Gunpowder with Menthe ( Mint ) ...it is normal to use an infuser with the tea as it comes in small pieces rather than standard tea leaves.
 
I can only get it in bags here! When I was young I found teabags of gunpowder tea. I loved it!
They also had lychee once. oh my. LOVE

I might just have to google twinnings and see what they still offer.

Just googled. The usa site was sparse, but if you want something to wish over, the UK site has 32 pages. They have queen Mary tea. I had never heard of it.

Oh, and the prices are outrageous so don't think you can't find it locally for less, because if you hunt hard enough, you can.

They carry several brands of tea. The prices of some of the teas are the same or cheaper than the individual manufacturers' web sites...
Plus, I was able to find an "online Coupon Code" for a 10% discount. I was able to get some recommend Twining's tea varieties that I could not find locally... AND.... I was able to get some other brands too. I can't wait to get the water boiling...

Decisions Decisions Decisions....

Do I start with the four berry, pear white tea, China Oolong, or Lady Londonderry tea?

Green tea with lemon grass is my favorite at the moment. Has or does anyone pick their own tea? We have so much mint around, some times it can be pretty strong after mowing. On the farm, the better half would pick chamomile for tea, or another oswego for sore throats. Another good one I like is the red berries from sumac (prefer smooth), it's like the red zinger tea. High in vitamin c and also good for dry mouth.

I've got some Apple Mint growing in my garden...
I have no idea how to go about making my own tea.
I would love to do something with the apple mint.
 
We used to make a cup of tea and float a leaf of mint in it. It was about all we needed for the flavor...or aroma. You can dry herbs on warm in your oven, save them for the winter and then sprinkle some in your tea as you feel like it.

Oh yeah, You are Jacksonville, so you probably won't lose your herbs over winter. I think you stay warmer than us because of the Atlantic.

You can take lemon or orange zest and put a little bit in your tea also. A clove of clove or a piece of cinnamon. You can add it to your infuser and come up with all kinds of combinations. The china black tea is a good strong tea to add flotsam and jetsam to.

Tea and coffee are such simple pleasures.

It would be fun to try and make a herbal tea garden. I have a real tea plant, but I haven't tried to make green tea from it yet.

Lemon grass is easy to grow, and the lemon balm, and lemon verbena.
You could grow the red hibiscus that they use in the zinger tea... the field is wide open.
