We have Pear trees but they are the very hard "cooking" type pears. ANyone have any great recipes? We have tons of pears ready.

I would simply can them in a lite sugar. My in-laws assure me they are also great when baked. We also have a pear tree that produces very hard pears. Of course, I found that they really need to just stay on the tree for an extra month to be really good.

Keifer pears. I canned 25 pints today. Around 40 pints to do tomorrow. Pick them green (I picked Monday) & let ripen in single layers a few days. I use medium syrup. They do make excellent baked pears (Butter, nutmeg & a little sugar). Actually, Keifers are my favorite canning & cooking pear.
