Both male cross-breeds. The nearest one does have a look of greylag, but he´s got generations of domestic goose in him. They´re my youngsters from last year, Pilgrim crosses. One looks male, big and strong, the nearer one you thought was a female last year, too, and it was a very sweet-natured gosling, looked after another gosling much younger than itself, which made me think female, too, also rather delicate in his features, but def a male.Look a lot like wild greylags

Oh, isn´t it ugly???? I had to clip his wings really hard, as he was determined to go with the ones I didn´t want him breeding with. He´s the father of the little pieds that are hatching now, so I´m really chuffed. All my geese fly when they want (until I clip the wings of one) They don´t fly off, but they like to fly around our place. so funny sometimes, they have such fun.I guess that they can fly very well espically the one with clipped wings XD
Can't clip my geese flight feathers because they need them from the winter cold to keep them warm and not wet from the rainClipped few gander wings few years back before winter and 4/5 got sick of coldness and wet, but never clip females wing feathers because they need those to keep babies warm when hatched espically when they have loads but when winter passes you can clip wings but only if needed too if one gander with clipped wings fights a gander with unclipped wings hewill lose badly and can't defend his goose so they have them for a reason
Threads been quiet for awhile so here's a new one. It's an April hatch embden x toulouse cross. I've always assumed it's a gander, but what do you think?
Just saw your reply. If moose is a gander he's definitely different. Thinks he's a duck, scared of everything including himself, and bottom of the pecking order. He runs around with my Welsh harlequins and layer flock.Yea it's a gander,it has a feminine look.
My gander when he only had ducks[Muscovy] in his flock ran around with them and thought he was a duck, took him a while to realize he was when I got him a goose for his mate.Just saw your reply.
