Cold Weather and Egg Laying

Hello All!

We are new to having ducks. A few days ago our Peking Ducks have started laying eggs. I was under the impression that they would only lay eggs in the Spring.

We bought the ducks in August, they are 2 years old, and they did not start laying until 13 Nov 2013.

Thanks in advance.

Well consider your self blessed some of us haven't had an egg since Sept. depends on breed and some ducks including Pekin will lay through winter, although during coldest apart may quit for a spell. Congrats on your ducks and eggs, pics when you get a chance. :welcome
