Can you eat a chicken that has died due to getting to cold at night?

Last night it had gotten very cold. When I went to go check on the chicken this morning I found her dead on the floor.
 
It would probably be fine to eat her, as long as she wasn't on antibiotics or something. I'm not sure that the cold killed her-- chickens rarely die from cold, unless they have another problem going on at the same time (like internal or external parasite infestations, weakened immune system, etc).
 
I would be worried that she had some other primary cause of death, and that the cold just hastened the final outcome.
 
I'm not sure if you want to eat her. Chickens very rarely die from being cold, so she may have had something going on with her. You could clean her and see if anything is amiss (tumors, worms, weird smells, etc.) if you really want to eat her. If there's nothing wrong, and she really was that poor one in a million that froze to death, then go ahead and start up the grill!

I agree, I don't think she died just from cold. I've had hens die with no apparent cause of death on and off over the years, sometimes things just up and die. Unless you were -50degrees, or she had no shelter, she didn't die just from being too cold. That said, I won't eat something unless I know why it died, preferably from me killing it. I'm just not that hungry I have to eat iffy meat, thank you Lord. I'd use her for dog food, or just bury her and use her for fertilizer.
 
If you knew for sure that she died from the cold and nothing else, then yes - I would eat her. That having been said, I agree with the general consensus here - she possibly had and underlying problem and I wouldn't eat it if it were my chicken.
 
It's kind of a risk verse reward situation...is the reward of one meal worth possibly getting sick. I don't think i would risk it myself.
