Please help me identify the sex of my two parakeets. Banana is about 15 months old and Coco about 11-12 months old.

is the white one definitely albino with the red eyes? i have heard it is impossible to sex these birds without dna or surgery . i raised these guys for a few yrs. and i would take a guess of them both being male. if you had a pair you should of seen something by now. btw, the are beautiful, healthy looking bungies.

Thanks for responding. I corrected the variety of budgie on the post - they are dark eyed clear budgies (no red eyes).

im sorry, i wasnt trying to correct you, just what i call them. so if no red eyes, they are both males. look at the nose skin. in babies the male will be pink as they age it turns blue and just opposite in females except it will be blue or tan/brown turning pinkish/tan when grown. silly i know but thats the way it is

Going to go ahead and second granny hatchet's guess. Though it's a little hard to tell on the second one.

Beautiful budgies, at any rate! I love these little guys, but my sister forbade me to get one out of fear that having another budgie in the house would make her little one Steve harder to tame down.

You have a pair white is a hen with the white in her cere the yellow is the male as male dec always have pink ceres.

dont worry about second guessing me, im only right 50% of the time! lol

Personally, I would watch the behavior they are displaying. I am 100% right if I can see behavior differences

They are both pretty boys. They are out of breeding condition and or the recessive pied variety, so they always have pink ceres. They are dark eyed clears, a mix of recessive pied and clear flight pied. So they keep the baby boy pink through there life. They have the white purple around the nostrails when not in condition. I can post some pics of my breeding recessive pied males when out of condition. You can almost swear they are girls. I have raised and breed these sweeties for years. Also if it was a female it would be much more white with brown mixed in or completely brown. Based on there age, before 6 months it's a bit tricker. Behavior defiantly doesn't always work. In the absence of males the girls will sing and court each other. The boys will court the other boys, when there hormones are flying they will court and sing to everyone and everything.
