View attachment 1074120 Well, gotta question. I obtained a BJG and she is now about 11 or 12 weeks old. Thing is I'm not sure if she is actually one. She definitely isn't an Australorp as I have some and she is not. She is almost the size of my 24 week old Australorp now, but her legs and feet are completely black and even her comb looks black. Not only that she was black as chick and the pics of BJG I've seen have a bit of white in face and underneath, which also has me puzzled. So what do y'all think? Here's her pic... excuse the mess in run, been raining for days....ugh! Not the best pics can get more later...she's running around playing at moment. Last pic is about a month old so she was about 9 weeks then.

Yes I know she isn't an Australorp I have them too, but bottoms of her feet are black, just like her legs.

Interesting. Probably still a BJG given her size and age... the only thing I have to compair my BJG to is my Brahmas of the same age. Everybody else is still 6 or so weeks younger...

ETA, even though she's gonna be the biggest, she's the bottom of the pecking order in my older flock. We'll see come next year when they're all grown.

She is slightly bigger than my Brahma girls her age, and low on pecking order as well due to others with her being older and still bigger and my Big Brahma roo keeps everyone in check. She is much bigger than Wyandotte same age and Isa Brown that is 2 weeks older.

So I got my BJGs at the co-op. They are almost 6 months now and the same size as my other hens. One is even smaller than my other breeds (not by much). I checked and they don't have yellow feet So does this mean I probably ended up with Australorps?

Sounds like it.. Do you have a pic of her feet and head?

Does anyone have Blue Giants from Bobbi Porto? From BYC member Wynette? Or from Maria Hall?

I had Porto Blue / Splash for a long time (10 yrs), raised several generations, and finally lost my last hen to old age this week. Hoping someone still has some related birds.
