German Shepherd female in heat!!! help! need stud

I would like to stud my dog in exchange for pick of the litter. He is an amazing gsd, very large & smart, good temperment.
Just hitting puberty.

hip and elbow scores can't be done until 2 years old if you OFA. at 12 months if you send them to the SV in Germany. at 6 months if you do PennHip.
You should also do a DM test at the same time. If the female has been bred before, you might be wise to get STD testing done as well before you agree to breed.

What proof do you have of how amazing he is? What titles does he have? What is his pedigree? What lines is he - DDR, Czech, WGSL, ASL, other?

In other words, what makes him a good breeding prospect other than a working pair of testicles.
What is your breeding contract? IE What if there is only 1 puppy? Who gets to pick which puppy will be the "fee" and at what age? Will the female come to you? If so, will you board her and at what charge? Will you do artificial insemination? If so, who will pay the fee for collecting your male? If it is to be shipped, who is paying that charge?

Lots and lots of things to be done and worked out before you breed.

I always wonder how these folks decide BYC is the appropriate place to advertise their dogs to breed. We see this so much, a one-post user posting their "amazing" dog for stud. It's Backyard Chickens, for heaven's sake, not backyard Puppy Mill.

well this is at least in the "other pets and livestock" section.
most people honestly don't know that there are other things that should be considered before breeding their dog

I'm guessing that they did a search for something relating to dog breeding, and this comes up. A couple of days ago, my husband googled something completely unrelated to chickens, and one thing that came up was a thread on Random Ramblings that had some of the same key words in the title. "Me, too" breeder wanna-be's gotta start somewhere, I guess.

Yes, you should never jump into breeding. risk of death will always be there no matter how hard you try to prevent it. I just want to make it clear though that GSD are normally very energetic and need constant stimulation so they channel that hyper energy into doing productive stuff like training and obedience. Please, please do not just look for a random stud (this advice goes for ANY sort of breeding you plan to do) you must make sure they have all the correct papers (as has already been said). I personally would look into getting a dog from the shelter but since your dog apparently doesn't respond well to that it cannot be a possibility. I know that you have also heard this but if possible adopt. Puppies and dogs are getting euthanised because of overpopulation. Please take all of this into account and if you ever plan to breed again think carefully about the stud. Some inexperienced people don't think it matters but it really does. You wouldn't want deformed puppies.
I just want to tell you for future plans of breeding.
