Hi Chumps,

There's a nice breeder just outside Malmesbury. I got my Buff Orpington and Australorp hens from him. Then there's a breeder in Somerset West as well where I got my Brahma's. Let me know when you are ready and I can send their numbers to you.

Hi

I am a chicken lover in Cape Town, South Africa

I've never met other chicken-lovers in Cape Town before, so I only have chicken-lover friends from IG (instagram)

Which breeds of chickens do you have? I'd like to know.

I'm new to backyardchickens.com, so I enjoy seeing other peoples' chickens.

Hi Helen,

I'm in Darling on the West Coast. Where are you? We have 3 Brahmas, 1 Buff Orpington, 1 Black Australorp as well as a Rhode Island Red mix that we inherited. We're planning to get more.

What breeds do you have?

Hi there

I have just seen your thread :)

I have finished building my coop and cannot wait to get my chickens but i have so many questions and still getting the hang of using this site.
I live in Diep River, Cape Town.

I have no idea what to keep in my coop or nest boxes (sand, straw, wood shavings)...

I hope you can help :)

Hi all

I am brand new to this forum. My partner and I live in Muizenberg and want to start our own backyard chickens. The coop is already built and they have a big enclosure to roam in ... now all we need is chickens! Where can we get chickens (hens only that are not overly noisy, as we live in a residential area) around Cape Town? We are specifically looking for egg laying chickens. Can anyone recommend any breeds specifically? What are your experiences with cats and chickens? ... our boy is a very inqusitive creature and quite the avid hunter ...

Thanks all for your help!

Have a happy Christmas and a great 2016!

Jasmin

Hey JAzNag, did you eventually find some chicken? did you eventually find some chickens? How is your chicken raising going? I'm also in Muizenberg...
