Egg Yolk Peritonitis -- 20 month old Rhode Island Red.

Just a little note to all that may be following Rosey's ordeal. Rosey passed quickly and quietly in this morning's beautiful spring sunshine. Her quality of life had degraded to where she spent her days sleeping and pooping where she slept in a corner nest box. We placed her out in the sunshine one more time and let her soak up the suns warming rays and then ended her suffering. Enough was enough. She is buried in a quiet spot where the trees shade and sway in the wind, spring wild flowers grow and bugs whiz by. She is in a far more beautiful place and we will miss our Rose.

God Speed sweet chook.

Friendly, sociable, charming, laughable. Rest in peace Rose. We'll meet you on the rainbow bridge...

She was so lucky to have you and it sounds like you gave her a beautiful send off.

I can't believe how sad I am over a chicken I've never even met....

I am so sorry for your loss, Amy.

big hugs to you and your family. Rosey was so cute. I liked her face, especially her eyes, which made me smile.
That good thing was what she passed away quietly. - Akiko
