He was working on our new house and cut his left thumb on the table saw last night. Dragged him to the ER and it took 7 stitches to close it up. Found out he broke the bone at the end of his thumb too. We did not get home til 1am.

Going in to have a follow up tomorrow. put him on antibiotics and pain pills. Going to take awhile to heal.

He was lucky he did not cut his whole thumb off.

NinjaRooster the ER would agree with you. Got a friend that lost part of one of his fingers when he used to log trees.
It was scarey!

I did exactly the same thing but 21 stitches. No use in being ignorant if you can't show it !!! LOL

My husband did the same thing when he was in High School. A few years ago, he repeated the experiment with the impeller in the clippings pickup system of a lawn mower (shouldn't have been moving with the blades disengaged, but it was). He still has all of his fingers, but he has some lovely scars.

Hope your husband is recovering well!

Thanks Bunnylady!
DH got the stitches out yesterday. Said it hurt when they were removed. No surprise from me. Nurse even told me I could remove them, but DH refused. Coward! LOL!

Was doing pretty good until he was helping load some grain trucks today and bumped his thumb.
