Thailand Anyone?

Pics
Sorry, thailand, I actually live in the US. We are heading back to our friend's house (she is Thai) in Chiang Mai in December for 2 months and she has chickens. I was just hoping to be able to get her some different varieties. I'd LOVE to be able to bring her some of ours, but I guess that process is a bit crazy, huh?

Why did you bring you birds from America? I bet that was expensive!!! Also they would find it difficult to adjust to the hot climate and the new diseases here.

Chickens are very easy to buy here.

I have a shop near me selling::::

Polish Chickens,
Silkies. White, blue, black, red, and mix.
Japanese Bantams - all colours.
Brahma chicken.. many colours.

They also sell turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks, golden pheasants, and many kind of ducks.

There are also 2 farms where I can get white egg laying birds.. similar to leghorns, and some that seem to be the red egg laying chickens. Also the black skin chickens too.

You should come up to Chiang Mai sometime for a chicken 'hunting' holiday.

I have great Polish if you want! Babies for 400 baht, 2 months or older 1200 baht-3000 baht depending on the chicken. (The expensive ones are frizzle Polish!) It will be 2 months before I have more available, but let me know!
Hi,
I'm new to this site, but had many chickens in the UK, just started keeping them again here. I've had real trouble finding healthy birds here, near Bangkok, but really want to get a trio of Polish to start breeding. I come South every 6 months or so when my daughter goes to visit her dad in Phuket. I'm wondering if you are still in Krabi and if you are likely to have any young Polish available in October??

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site and was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on where to get a coup made in Thailand.
I can't find anything online ready made.
I built my current coup, but would like to upgrade to something better.
Any thoughts on how to upgrade my coup? My building skills are average, so feel anything beyond my current triangular style would be best made by someone with more skills than me.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Great to see this thread is still getting seen.
I'm based on the outskirts of Bangkok, but travel across the country regularly for work and I've had large equipment sent from all over the country to the city many times, so its not a problem if I found a ready made coup in Chiang Mai. Shipping is surprisingly cheap here.
I was hoping to find someone who makes them already and buy one 'off the shelf'. Whether from a hobbyist expat carpenter (I've bought a few things from retired expats over the years) or from a local that has experience in building coups. I work with various farms across Thailand, but farms use sheds rather than coups, so no help for my backyard chickens.
Sadly I've found nothing ready made and it looks like the only option is to translate some plans and then pass them over to a tradesman, but if you have ever heard of anyone making coups I'd be interested to buy from some one with experience. There are numerous places that build furniture out of old pallets around Bangkok (BangPhlii and Tha Rua), so might go ask them if there's no other option.

I wonder if someone can help me. I’d love to have chickens - especially Buff Orpingtons (I’ve had them for years), or Brahmas or Barred Rocks. I’d like to start with hatching eggs or day old chicks. I live in Palau which has a USA zip code (96940) and a USA state abbreviation - PW. Palau is an independent nation and it’s a small country so there hasn’t been much demand for shipping chicks or eggs here. We are next to the Philippines and very easy to get to from Thailand. Do any of you know of someone who has eggs or chicks who’d be able to ship here? I am happy to pay for Priority or Express. Any help or tips would be very welcome. :)

Reviving this thread just to say hello. I'm in central Thailand. Currently have a dozen mystery ducklings and a dozen healthy week old Jungle Fowl chicks being raised indoors for now, with a couple dozen more eggs in the incubator. May expand to hatching classic chicken breeds soon, now that I have the incubation and brooder situations in hand. Haven't begun any immunizing and haven't needed any meds since birds are isolated from any obvious sources of infection. Anyone looking for Jungle Fowls eggs, let me know. My breeding stock of 2 hens and a rooster providing 8 fertile eggs every 10 days.
