Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

Got 6 pips on day 19!
Had a feeling, so was clucking at egg this morning<teehee>,
now have 6 pips!

Got to show a teenager how to candle yesterday,
and she might be able to come over and watch them hatch....
...or at least play with chicks before chicks and teen go home(not together) on Saturday.

17 out of 21 hatched with a couple of assists...one side pip, pip side was down and it DIS before I found it it...another decent pip DIS...two never pipped.
They all go home tomorrow. :D

An 8yo kid, cousin of the teen, came to visit during hatching....tho a hyper pistol, she was enthralled and listened very well as I imparted my vast knowledge(chuckling). It was fun to see the wonder in her eyes.

Birthing is done, cockerel slaughtering next week....thus the cycle continues.

We got babies! This thread has been quiet so I thought I would wake it up :) . Customer order of Iowa Blues and Isbar. Threw in some EE's this time. In a week, we will have more peeping hopefully!

Hey guys, I'm new here. I live in west Michigan and am setting eggs in the incubator for the first time tomorrow! I have RIR hens and an EE rooster. So I'm interested to see how these chicks turn out! I also have Rouen ducks I'll be hatching eggs from.

Welcome! that combo sounds interesting. We love pics so if you can, please post updates during the hatch and after of course! :) We have Ancona ducks only, but Iowas, EE, White Chantecler, and Silveruud Isbars.

Are you following the "Michigan Thread" as well? We have an annual get together every June so I hope you can plan on going. Here is the link:https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...ock-2019-mics19-pot-luck-swap-thread.1287669/
