The past few years we have been asked to register our flocks in MD for our own health safety and the prevention of disease, now (like gun laws) we find the real reason for registration.. The democrats have introduced a bill to tax every owner for every chicken they own. Not enough details but right now it stands at a nickel a bird but knowing politicians if it's a nickel today it will be a dollar in less than 5 years. We also don't know how often we'll be required to pay this tax.. Maryland, they'll tax the rain AND your chickena.
