Internal pip to external pip

I am on day 22 of hatching faverolles. This morning I had one egg internally pip. I'm not sure how long it had been that way. The egg still has not externally pipped. I can still hear the chick peeping. I haven't had a delay like this from internal to external pip. How long is it supposed to take before I see an external pip? It has been internally pipped at least 14+ hours. Any advice appreciated.
 
Sorry to see no-one's answered you yet. Has it made any progress?
 
Before I went to work this morning it was still peeping internally, but no :)external pip yet. I caved in and made a small hole in the egg at the air cell end so it could breathe. Just called husband at home and he said it's still moving every now and then, but no external pip yet. Tonight at 9:00 will be day 23. I am getting really nervous at this point. And thank you for responding.
 
Still no external pip. Chick is still peeping and moving. Called my husband at home and asked him to raise the humidity to 65-70 from 63. Not sure what else I should do at this point. I won't be home from work for another 3 hours. :(
 
Definitely go in after it! I haven't read the link on assisted hatching posted on the last reply but I'm sure it will have lots of good information.

I have taken off most of the shell and part of the outer membrane. The chick is really big, humidity too high I'm sure. I have the egg back in the incubator at the moment trying to wait for him to absorb the blood vessels. I saw a little blood and the chick is really weak. I feel horrible that I had to work today and possibly could have helped him more if I had been home. The chick is not peeping much anymore, but still breathing and moving a little. I have him wrapped in a moist paper towel in the bator right now. I have to be up at 5:30, and it's 12:11 my time. Guess who's going to work on no sleep again?
 
I've had to break out several songbirds for my job…it's the same as in chickens. If you would like to get a few pointers over the phone send me a message with your number. Good luck tonight!

Thanks you Sumi, and Jeremy for your help. I will keep checking on the chicks progress about every 2 hours throughout the night. I am going to check the membranes again. One of the chick's legs is stretched out of the shell now instead of curled up. Hopefully that is a good sign.
