seeking constructive critiques of my new chicken coop build

Looks good, but being in Florida, IMO, you are going to have to open the coop up more. With the tin roof, and the very small vent openings, that coop is going to be like an oven with the Fla. summer sun.
You should seriously consider opening up one whole wall. You could make the wall into panels, that would be easily taken off (Screws) and reinstalled for winter, over a hardware cloth screened opening.
I'm not trying to P in the punchbowl here, but it gets hot in Fla, and that coop is not open enough to deal with that heat. If anything, put a thermometer in there and monitor the temp, and you'll see for yourself.

yes, 10 ft sticks of half inch are only about 2 bucks a piece.

wow, never heard of raccoons chewing thru chicken wire. scary. yes, the barrel locks will be the daily lock but I am putting a hasp on for when we go off on the weekend.

I used 3/4 x 10ft, but used 2x4 14 ga welded wire fence.....see My Coop....wish you could get 20 footers=wider run.

Use the hasps every night.

I just looked at your setup, very very nice! that is an impressive coop. how many head you running?

i am done folks. finished the run this weekend. here is a short...I promise...final video showing the complete coop and run.

Watched the video, love the stairs. Easy for the girls to navigate and the pushy ones can get by without knocking the others off.

Barrel bolt latches are fine as long as they are the locking type. Put a carabiner or similar in EVERY night. Predators don't give a rat's patootie whether you are home or on vacation somewhere far away. I have one like this from Lowes on the people door to the coop:

Pop a carabiner in the hole when it is latched and the birds are safe from non human predators. If you have human predators, I say MOVE! But since that is not practical, I guess the old lock and key thing is required.

And I agree with Jack, make sure you can open that puppy up when it is warm to hot. The birds can't take off their coats when they are uncomfortable like people can.
