I really didn't need another rooster, but look at this boy. I just had to have him. I am sure he is a mixed breed but any ideas? He was looking very sad at the feed store and is a very friendly.

He does seem to have a little bit of a crest there. He is roosting now so lets get a picture!

Maybe a Swedish Flower Hen or an Iclandic chicken?

I think he is a speckled sussex too! He has more of a rust color than a like dark red/brown. But everything else makes him look like a sussex down to his tail feathers. lol He is adorable, can see why you couldn't leave him behind.
Sussex don't have yellow legs or crest, so he''s not one of those.
Where did you get him? did the seller have any thing to say about what breed he is?
Most rare breeds, the seller will know what they have and be sure to tell the buyer, and probably charge accordingly. I think it's much safer to say he's a nice mixed breed rooster.

With a crest maybe he has some Polish mixed in? And is it my imagination or is he smaller than the rest of your birds? He is looking like a bantam to me.
