Im living in southern Ontario, Its still fairly cold but am wondering if i should begin separating my geese to prevent cross breading. I have Pilgrims, Embden's and 2 Africans. My plan is to let each group out by themselves in order to stretch their wings and have a bath for a part of the day until major breeding is done. What problems might i encounter when i reintroduce the entire flock to one another in late spring? or should i wait beyond that?

Wait ! Do you want eggs to hatch?! If not leave em together and jyst grab the eggs .
By the way what you are doing is actually what im doing too ;)
And when you re-introduce all the geese every male in the pair will fight and they wont be scared to fight the gander that is domient right now because they were boss of their own territory.
Espically if they have babies!
They will challange eachother
and about 1-3 weeks later this would be over
This happens every year with my geese most of the time the dominant gander stays dominant with my geese but if the dominant one isnt dominant anymore well then the whole pecking order is changed :0
Heres just a bit of advice

I want to incubate the first few eggs while its cold out once they begin laying but im hoping they hatch out their own goslings as well. I want them to breed amongst their own breed so im not ending up with different crosses when i go to sell goslings.

Mine get to free-range again when the goslings are about 3 to 4 weeks old. They keep in their own relative families, not much problem here.

i have them all separated as of today. No breeding has taken place so far. My only question was after breeding season and egg laying is over can they all be mixed back together without major issues?

Yes, when all them settle down in the ganders from the breeding season. They will go back to being calm again... About end of May or beginning of June.
