We usually work all year but take long breaks in between. Its not unheard of for us to take the entire month of December off, or six+ weeks in August-September when it gets SO hot here you can't even think straight. We also take a week or two here and there when road trips to visit family pop up, or if we have people here visiting.
My oldest started high school this year & I am really struggling. I've asked if she wants to start the local charter so we can get help with tutors, meet new people, get the right precollege courses in, go to prom, etc... but she's completely not going for it. Her logic is that, "Prom is overrated." and "I can take college courses on line." Both of these are true statements, so how can I argue with that? Still, I might have to buckle & find a tutor. I've also got a 5th/6th grader & a 2nd grader.
We mostly use;
