yeah i was... but i heard chirps so i just said screw it.. if one is dead so be it..Jess, were you at all worried about opening the box in front of the kids? I would love for my kids to see them when I first open the box, but I'm worried about finding one DOA.
I was worried about this too. And I actually opened the box away from them BUT they were right there with me when the one passed away in my hand. So we had the circle of life talk and they asked all day if all the chicks had died, so we would go and visit and I would show them that they were safe. My kiddos (4 &3) actually did ok with it! I think I was more worked up and concerned than they were. lolJess, were you at all worried about opening the box in front of the kids? Yeah, we are VERY practical people, but I wondered what other people thought about it. I really want to bring my 5 and 3 year olds to the PO with me.I was worried about this too. I think the one that has the little light spot on the top of its head may be your barred rock?? From all the reading and looking I have done at these, that is what I have found. lol But! my guess is as good as yours till those feathers come in! LOLI cant tell which one is the black australorp and which is the barred rock? lol i can tell the silver laced wyandotte and the gold laced wyandotte as they have stripes down their backs.... and the only yellow one is the buff orpington
check out thisto see the video of me going to get them this morning and bringing them home
Awww! I will keep that in mind for our next order for sure!!! Unless this flock ends up needing it! Good info!I had one die ..I just have her vitamines but I think the sugar water is key. I had one stop eating then sugar water worked. I
