It sure would take a lot of stress off you if you didn't have so many. I have 9 layers between 2 and 4yrs old, and we get enough eggs to supply us, dad, sis, and share with a neighbor or 2 and a couple of carpool moms. I don't even keep track of how often I buy a bag of feed. Maybe one per month while they are laying. They spend the whole day out in the yard picking at stuff, so that helps. Bag of crumbles for the Seramas lasts forever!
At this rate you aren't enjoying your larger flock and they are eating money you could use for chocolate or ice cream or some other necessary food. Would your Amish friend want some of them?
I dont know. I cant ever think to ask. would you give them away or sell them ? I will never get back what I have in them.
