Hi everyone, beautiful Sunny day today, temps around 70 degrees. Got some outdoor stuff done & now headed off to my granddaughters volleyball game. Not certain how these schools think that parents can make it to their kids games. They have them scheduled to start at 4:30 even the away games. In this day & age both parents work & usually can't afford to leave work early or even aren't allowed.

Granny sorry to hear that your new birds are sick. That's how I lost my favorite roo early this spring. In about a weeks time he starved to death. I think he had bad worms & he was so docile that I think he may have been bullied at the hanging feeder in the coop. I'm praying yours pull thru. He died the day I figured out what was happening

I agree that everyone has different approaches to parenting. Some kids are so agreeable that a harsh talking to might be all it takes. Unfortunately some children are very strong willed and won't listen to reasoning. I raised 2 like that. I spanked as well as taking away a priveledge when need. I was never abusive, but I definetly wished I wouldn't have had to spank. I was raised by a very tough father. We were spanked, but I could except that way better than the verbal abuse he doled out. The only time I had a problem with a spanking was when I was in the 11th grade in high school and for some reason I had did something that had set him off when my girlfriends stopped to pick me up for a school dance. He spanked me in front of my friends & then wouldn't let me go to the dance. To this day I cant remember what I did that made a grown man spank a teenager. The only thing I have ever remembered from that incidence was how humiliated he made me feel.

I need some help ! tolbunt polish. looking sleepy, not active guess thats why i thought they were so tame. Picked them up today and there is NOTHING to them. they are starving ! I should know this but i dont. they were good weight when i got them. no illness signs at all. I gave them denaguard when i first got them as a preventative , ya i know, not good but i want them healthy with no chances. I gave them wormer yesterday. safeguard. after i seen the shape they are in I cooked them breakfast. dozen eggs, oats, cat food, corn, fresh dandelion leaves, kidney beans. they did eat like they were starved. I have contacted seller to see what she fed. waiting on an answer.
I would try some Corid. Coccidiosos will literally starve them to death. It kills quick so get some ASAP. Birds moved to new grounds are are ALWAYS subject to Cocci. Birds become immune to their environment. New birds don't have time to become immune yet.

Sick birds will sometimes eat everything but their chicken feed so feed them what ever they will eat.

That's not good, sounds like you need to eat another piece lol

Oh no granny, glad you have come round :hugs You need to take care of your self and watch that suger of yours. Good job Ol mares cake was on hand :highfive:

Yes the polish are daft as brushes but that adds to the character of them. I like the fact they need mothering and that bit of extra attention, Charlie growing up is giving me thoughts of empty nest when and if he leaves home.

Oh, granny, what are we going to do with you? Glad you've come'round, but that's scary. On a lighter note though now I have proof to my belief that there is medicinal value to cake, lol

This is a little late and will probably get in trouble for this but thought it was funny

Do you know what happened 165 years ago this summer....
September 9, 1850?
Mike and I got a chuckle out of that!

California became a state!

The people had no electricity.
The state had no money.
Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically NOTHING has changed except, then the women had real boobs and the men didn't hold hands.

That, my friends, is the history lesson for today.
