Is there red caps ? I dont remember what kind you got.
I looked at the papers that came with it,it points out all parts doesn't say anything about vents

that shelf liner is great for their feet and legs. I guess your vent is built into the fan. Learn something new every day !
I did put in shelf liner,York said that would help it not to be slippery.I know nothing about a bator or hatching.i've heard never too old to learn we will find that out.
