Serama coop has mites again. that ivermectin is getting expensive to be using every couple months. I thought it worked good. Treated the coop with sevin dust. gave all the chickens a drop and a bite. Made them look tons better. but it hasnt been that long ago. Big coop is still mite free.

Try using garden lime (use the right kind) on the floor, then sprinkle some of the dust, I get a big bag of preth dust at lowes dirt cheap, I use a tennis ball container and poke tiny holes in the top and its like a squeeze duster, dust and then shavings and dust on the shavings. for the birds I put the dust in a nylon stockin and pat them under wings butt and back with it. I use ivermectin every six months, but I do the above at each coop clean! (except the birds thats when I feel like it lol)

I hope you can rid them soon, if you burn wood ash, make sure its ended its fire life and then you can add that in your shavings as a natural deterrentrepellent too. They LOVE TO dust bath in fresh shavings and having the Preth dust and the ash in there its a win win for everyone.

Ps did you get my tag about the tolbunts? When I get some bigger eggs and fertility I am sending you them and serama.

I know I promised a long time ago, but I finally have a roo now!

Chickens did good today. I just have to check on them more often. Got 7 eggs. All in nest but 1 under rabbit pen(polish pen). 2 old EE hens didn t go back in pen. I said good riddance.
