3 of us pulled off the ramp and.crossed the hiway and.started back up what we call a git on ramp over in Missouri way out in the middle of no where . Now y'all may or not know that the drug of choice is crank, meth, amphetamine. Now I'm am not proud of that but it's true none the less. Any way me and the other drivers got up in one truck to do the dope, and wound up b.s.ing for half an hour. Y'all should know arguing with a truck driver is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you figure out the pig likes it. Anyway I digress, Well Mountain Man was in the first truck, Magic Hands, was in the middle, and I was bringing up the rear. We go back to our respective trucks ,and were waiting, and waiting ,I finally keyed up the radio and asked when this party was gonna start no answer. I waited and repeated, I was getting antsy and the dope was definitely working which just made it worse. Just as I open my door to get out of the truck. I hear Mountain Mans hillbilly drawl say " I can't move till this 400lb chicken gets out of the way" Well I horse laughed him over the radio. We can't sit here all night. I laughingly told him. I should explain extended periods of meth use and no sleep folks see stuff. I figured he was what we call squelching . He's adamant that a 400lb chicken was holding him hostage. His words not mine . I get out of my truck and walk two tractor trailer lengths to find he WAS NOT hallucinating. There was in deed what looked to be over a 6 foot or better chicken staring into the window eye to eye with a driver in a cabover . All this commotion had made enough noise to wake the farmer up and he came and shooed his EMU of all things with a broom. When Mountain Man tried to run him off the EMU which I found out later were really territorial like most roosters tore the back side of Mountain Man's bib overalls out and his hiney was bleeding profusely. You should have been at the ER and heard Mountain Man spin this yarn for the staff I laughed so hard I cried and was blowing snot. and it's all true that's a fact with my hand up as Windy Bagwell would say.
