Boy! Just had a pretty good scare! My laptop is in the garage so I can smoke and have quiet and DH can watch what he wants on TV. I live on a dead end dirt road, pretty close to civilization, nice community. We have had a rash of mailbox breakins and smash and grabs on cars. I have a cute lil car that I keep covered and rarely drive plus 3 more. All of a sudden my car alarm goes off and my motion lights go on! I jump up, holler for DH and pop the garage door. Nothing there. I holler "get the gun and send the dogs"! hoping to scare the snot out of someone. No clue what set off the alarm and the lights. Never had that happen. Sleeping in the living room with the window cracked and the gun loaded tonight.

Geeze! Glad you didn't have a heart attack! Car alarms go off around here occasionally, and no one can figure out what does it. Sucks when the person who owns it is not home.

Alsan looks like a prince of a dog. Does he get to stay in the house? Hope the owner comes out of surgery okay. He's had his share of problems. Doesn't seem fair, does it?


Mite treatment complete. Some still have residual leg mites too, so more vaseline slathering required. I saw a few of the little bas-turds crawling on the roost, so now not sure what type I'm dealing with. The frontline will kill any that bite before they can lay eggs. Just need to make sure that when the eggs that are already laid hatch, those die also. Did I mention I HATE mites.

I'm all itchy now, too.

Granny, no I did not do anything for Christmas. Absolutely nothing!

The waterer you are talking about, is it red and white. I found mine at TSC. It works like a charm, holds 5 gallons of water.

Well, this one is being cooked the cheater way - I have too much running around and other stuff to do to babysit it being cooked the "right" way (grill/smoke), so it's spending the day in the crock pot. You don't get the nice bark on the outside, but the flavor and tenderness is still there.

Yikes - unfortunately the criminal sort are becoming bolder and that makes them scarier. We were just talking about how they used to watch a house and wait for no one to be home before they'd break in, now days they don't care if you are home or not, they are coming in and it is getting more and more violent. Even way out where we live there has been a rise in breakins, thefts, etc - drugs is a big driver of it (and also contributes to the "don't care" attitude of the people committing the crimes with regards to risking getting caught).

Morning y'all. We made it safe and sound. I had a migraine most of yesterday. Cell service is bad up here so until I get some wifi, I'll just be trying to stay caught up.

My mom finally went to the ER yesterday. She told us Thursday that her heart felt "fluttery." Friday she was the same. Yesterday she was nauseous as well, but still waited until she got home to go to the ER. They admitted her. This is the text from my dad: "No diagnosis. On a heart monitor. Had a EKG. Had a echocardiogram. Chest x-Ray. Something for nausea twice. Morphine. Aspirin. Will have to have three blood draws eight hours apart checking enzymes for a heart attack. Hasn't seen Cardiologist yet."

So, that's worrisome when I'm so far away.

Everything else is fine. My sussex went to a nice new home yesterday, so they're safe now. That puts me down to 28 and 4 guineas; practically nothing! DH wants to start next month or so with another fancy/rare breed. I have a good connection, so I'll see what she suggests.
