My New Easter Egger Chicks

Thank you all for sharing your chick stories. I supposedly have four pullets, but today someone told me that Chocolate was a rooster. We had already noticed that he/she was bigger than the others, but then I checked his/her feathers. I've heard that a female's wing feathers are even as a chick while a male's feathers are uneven. Does anyone have any more tips on sexing chicks? Also, if any of you have chick questions, I will try to answer them.

Gatershark75 mentioned Cinnamon Queens. I think they are like Golden Comets. If they are, you have some great layers. I have eleven Golden Comets, one of which is a rooster. The hens lay beautiful brown eggs, and some of them are double yokers. I love Golden Comets.

even better layers they average 280 to 320 eggs per chicken per year with a laying life of 4 or more years

We have one EE bantam from Privett. She lays pretty green eggs. They always make me smile! She only takes off about once every 5 days. That being said, she stopped laying from October to mid-February. Not.one.single.egg. She was always the first to bed at night, I think she just wasn't getting enough light. We probably could have supplemented light to keep her going but it was fine.

We enjoyed the pretty eggs so much we have a few more, standard size this time! The cockerels were actually packing peanuts from Ideal and the pullets are from Cackle. There's more, but I don't have pictures of everyone.

The green ones are from our bantam, she's the only EE old enough to lay right now. (I only wash them right before we use them)

"Look at me" "look at me."Hi"This is Winney. She is the quiet chick. The bigger chicks are running her over. She never gets any meal worms.

I used to have an EE hen. She was one of my favorites. I'm hoping to pick up two EE chicks tomorrow if the feed store has them in. I've got a black sex-link and a Delaware in the brooder right now, waiting for their EE little sisters to join them.
